The Only Way to Get to Heaven
John 14:6 – “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”
(This verse sums it all up. Doing good deeds without putting your trust in Jesus will leave you knocking on the door to heaven without anyone to let you in. Jesus decides who gets in and if you haven’t developed a relationship with him he will turn you away. Your salvation has nothing to do with being a “good person”, it has only to do with your faith that Jesus is your personal Lord and Savior.)
Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
(This means that no matter how hard you try you will never be good enough, or accomplish enough good deeds to be worthy of going to heaven. So if you’re 'pretty sure' you’re going to heaven because you’re a good person, then you are going to be terribly disappointed when you stand before Jesus.)
Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (What does ‘gift of god’ mean? The gift of God is that Jesus lived to teach us how to live. Jesus then died to show us how to die. Jesus’ one big message to his disciples was how important it was to accept Jesus into our hearts and to allow him to take all our problems and trust him and only him. When we accept the Lord into our hearts, while we are alive, we will then live with the Lord after we die.
John 3:3 – “Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’”
(So when you decide to trust Jesus to handle your problems you are then giving your life to him which is the same as being born again. When you do that, you will then see the kingdom of God.)
Romans 10:9-11 – “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
(To get to heaven all you have to do is read the prayer at the bottom of this page out loud. It can be in a whisper but it has to be with your mouth.)
2 Corinthians 5:15 – “and he died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”
(So if you ever wanted to know what your purpose in life was, here it is. Here’s the meaning of life. “We all were created to live our lives 'to give glory' to the One who died for us.” Pretty simple isn’t it? This is where the trust part comes in to play. When you decide to trust the Lord, He will then take care of all your problems.)
Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”
(Pretty cool, wouldn’t you say?)
It’s not too late, no matter how old you are or how terrible of a life you have lead, you can ask Jesus right now to take over your life and all your problems because you trust Him to save you. If you want Jesus to be your own personal Lord and Savior then answer these questions and say the following prayer with all your heart:
Are you a sinner?
Do you want forgiveness of sins?
Do you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for you
and rose again?
Are you willing to surrender your life to Jesus Christ?
Are you ready to invite Jesus Christ into your life and
into your heart?
Say this prayer out loud with all your heart:
Heavenly Father, I have sinned against you.
I want forgiveness for all my sins.
I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again.
Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish.
I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart.
This I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
